Position Types
Federal Work Study
Work Study students are eligible to fill most OSU part-time position and numerous off-campus positions with non-profits and government agencies. Employing a work-study eligible student can save departments funding as the work-study program provides 70% of the student's salary with the organization paying the other 30%.
Part-Time Jobs
Part-Time jobs offer a valuable opportunity to gain practical work experience while balancing academic commitments. Students can explore diverse roles that not only contribute to their personal and professional development but also provide financial support.
Internships
Specifics of an internship may vary, but all internships should involve intentional learning with specific goals and objectives that support the student's academic and career interests. Students may pursue academic credit for an internship, whether paid or unpaid, depending on their department.
Graduate or
Teaching Assistants
Graduate Assistants serve in a variety of support roles, while working on their graduate degrees. Responsibilities often include serving as a teaching or research assistant. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, peer advising or other support capacities.
Full-Time
Entry Level
Full-time entry-level positions are the beginning of a recent graduate’s career experience. Typically, in line with the candidate’s field of study, full-time entry level positions are often characterized by a learning curve, as recent graduates apply their academic knowledge to real-world scenarios.
Campus Interviews
OSU Career Services is pleased to offer two options for conducting your campus interviews. Your OSU Career Services Recruiting Partner will consult with you to determine which is best for your organization’s goals.
Room-only or day after career fair interviews allows you to interview students you meet during a fair. You make your schedule; we provide the space.
Pre-select interviews allows our staff to manage your interview schedule for you through the Job and Interview Portal. Once your job is posted, we help advertise directly to students and we will build your schedule based on the students you select.
